About me
I signed up for my first Pilates class nearly 20 years ago, and have never looked back. Having worked for many years in a corporate environment, I've found Pilates exercises very helpful to address the stiffness and muscle tension in the neck, shoulders and back that came from sitting in front of a screen all day, and regular practice has really helped me focus on maintaining good posture and moving better.
Inspired by some great teachers over the years, in 2018 I made the decision to go for a complete change of career and train as a Pilates teacher myself with the globally-acclaimed Body Control Pilates. I'm passionate about keeping active as we grow older, and my goal is to help people, whatever their age and fitness level, to experience for themselves the great benefits that Pilates can bring.
I am a certified Back4Good® Practitioner, providing exercise programmes for the prevention and management of low back pain. I am also certified to design Pilates programmes for Bone Health and older participants, and hold a L3 Exercise Referral qualification which allows me to work with people with various conditions. In addition, I have undertaken specialist training in Pilates for Scoliosis.
My other passion is singing, and in my spare time I can be found rehearsing and performing with various choirs and singing groups (as well as practising Pilates of course!)
